As a clinician, I strive to develop a safe and trusting environment while understanding the many complexities and nuances of what it means to be human. My approaches to individual therapy include the person-in-environment framework, harm reduction, trauma-informed practices, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and others.
Navigating systemic inequities can be incredibly intimidating and challenging. I address how trauma, institutionalized racism, White supremacy, microaggressions, race-based trauma, violence, poverty, homophobia, and transphobia impact an individual’s access to healthcare, mental health care, housing, employment, and other services.
