About

I actively foster a collaborative alliance with clients. I provide focus and support as we work together to increase your self-awareness and identify specific strategies to help you address the challenges you are experiencing. As part of this process, I help you become more mindful of habits that might get in your way while learning new approaches to live more authentically. I help you identify and build upon your strengths in cultivating resilience to manage life's challenges. I draw on over forty years of clinical experience with varied populations in inpatient and outpatient settings. My approach is eclectic, reflecting a variety of well researched theories that best address your specific concerns. I provide treatment that helps foster strengths such as resilience, self-compassion, frustration tolerance, mindfulness and personal character strengths. I emphasize an integration of mind and body in my approach. I am especially knowledgeable in treatment of anger, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and motivation. Author - Overcoming Destructive Anger: Strategies That Work (2016), Healthy Anger: How to help children and teens manage their anger (2003) and Unlock Your Creative Genius (2006), Co-author- New Hope for People with Bipolar Disorder (2002, 2007), Your Bipolar Relationship (2007)
