About
Therapy can be surprising. Worry or anger or despair can open up hope and meaning. Rather than seeing yourself as flawed-and your distress as a problem to be eliminated-you can learn to feel compassion for yourself and recognize your challenges are pointing to new directions. Usually, my clients find increased vitality and satisfaction in their lives. Connection to self, others, and spirit can strengthen. Your pain can ease.
My approach is warmly interactive. I believe you have the answers to your dilemmas within you, and together we will find or create them. Likewise, when I work with couples, I recognize how attachment needs can get hidden behind self-protection, and end up looking like fights or silences.
With 32 years as a therapist, and 13 years as a clinical supervisor, I am skilled at working with people who worry a lot, or who are puzzled by their irritation or anger, and those in midlife. I particularly enjoy working with people who have been in therapy previously.
