About
I have learned that regardless of approach, therapy works when there is a foundation built on trust, curiosity, empathy and honesty. Therapy is not prescriptive nor one size fits all. It's a process that necessitates vulnerability, and it can be difficult and painful -- as trust, honesty, change and vulnerability are. That doesn't translate into you leaving the session falling apart; my job is to create a safe space to facilitate growth at a pace you can tolerate.
I have a masters in social work and advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I have extensive experience with varying types of anxiety/depression (situational or biologically based) and a range of mental health issues. I also specialize in Eating Disorders.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, together we'll learn about your strengths, challenges, and voice of your inner critics. Healing happens in relationship, both with others and within one's self. Therapy fosters healthy connection, broadens perspective and increases self reflection. Through the process, growth and change become possible.
