About
My name is Dawn Blake, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I tend to take a relaxed approach to therapy, meeting you where you find yourself currently. When it comes to focus areas of practice, I use a wide variety - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strengths - Based / Solution - Focused, and Narrative Therapy - I consider myself to have an eclectic style and use what I have at my disposal. I work well with a variety of ages and populations, from children to the elderly, to those struggling with co-occurring disorders and life changes, anxiety and schizophrenia. All are welcome.
My approach varies to the needs of my clients, but I prefer to use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as Strengths-based / Solution-focused. Clients present with different needs, so the treatment can’t be ‘one size fits all’.
Originally, I saw myself in the criminal justice field, but decided to branch off into mental health instead - which eventually led me into entering the field of Social Work and being a clinician. I enjoy talking to people and helping them realize their own potential, even if they can't see it yet.
