About
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, I studied at Cameron University and received a master's in behavioral science in psychology, and a BA in communications from Georgia Southern University. I have been counseling clients since 2011. Prior to becoming a therapist I was an active duty soldier in the United States Army. The army provided exposure to many cultures and adversity. I departed from the army and became involved in military programs while supporting my active duty husband in his service. I was an advocate for the unit's family readiness group which led me to pursue a career in psychology.
I believe life is about choices. People either make them, or avoid them. The choices we make do not always have to be permanent. Change starts with you. My approach to therapy is focused on reality therapy. The technique is guided by your personality and needs as well as my training in family systems theory.
My areas of expertise are self-esteem, obesity, grief depression, stress, addictions, relationship issues. career assessments, parenting, pre-martial counseling, life transitions (aging, moving, divorce, etc.), military families, blended families, couples therapy, coping skills and trauma.
