About
I support individuals struggling with anger, intrusive thoughts, constant worries, intense urges, low self-esteem, shame, guilt, and hopelessness, as well as those experiencing challenges such as PTSD, childhood abuse and neglect, first-responder stress, eating disorders, addiction, loss, grief, anxiety, and depression. At times when life is overwhelming, a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship can help us through recovery from unhelpful behaviors (such as constant scrolling, dissociation, binge eating, self-harming, withdrawal), consuming thoughts, and overwhelming emotions.
I approach therapy with curiosity, warmth, and compassion, and with an awareness that each of us possesses strengths and resiliencies. I help folks by imparting psychoeducation about trauma, addictions, and maladaptive behaviors; teaching DBT coping skills; and implementing specific approaches, such as CBT, CPT, and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy).
I have had the privilege to walk alongside many amazing people who made remarkable progress, recoveries, and lasting change. After working as a social worker in Toronto for the past 17 years, I am excited to return to my hometown of Brandon. I am looking forward to supporting our Westman community!
