About
Trying to find a therapist can feel overwhelming and scary. And yet, finding a good therapist for support through life's challenges can be the best decision you make for yourself. If you are struggling, feel lost or alone, or are facing a difficult transition, I am here to listen, provide support, and help you get back on track for the life you desire. My practice style is holistic and integrative and always focuses on each client's individual strengths and personal goals. My personal style is casual, laid-back, sincere, and compassionate.
My background includes 25 years working in mental health and counseling, including community mental health, hospice and palliative care, sexual assault and child sexual abuse, residential, and vocational services. I specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, and cultivating self-compassion and deep emotional healing.
Research shows that many people feel more comfortable opening up to a counselor in the presence of a support animal. I offer canine-assisted therapy together with my long time registered therapy dog "Jasper Marie" and/or my newest therapy-dog-in-training: "Maya" the sweet, spirited puppy. Both would be delighted to meet you!
