About
Hi, I'm Jill Smith, a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in NH. I've been providing counseling services for 23 years. I use a strengths based approach, exploring your strengths and supports that could be helpful to you. I also like to use handouts, worksheets, and give therapy "homework" to help you implement the changes you want to make. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I also use a lot of mindfulness practice in my work with clients.
I enjoy working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and adjusting to life changes and stressors. If you are ready to make a change because what you've been doing all along is no longer working for you, then I may have something new to offer you.
I encourage open communication about how our work together is going for you. My goal for you, is for you to meet your treatment goal. If you don't feel we are a good match, if you don't feel you are developing a helpful rapport with me please let me know and I can assist you in finding someone who may be a better match.
