About

Are you feeling overwhelmed or unsatisfied at home, school, work, or in an important relationship? Is your child struggling socially or academically? I provide a warm, professional, and respectful environment where we will explore the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will work together to develop a coherent narrative of what is working and not working in your life, and draw on my experience and training to cultivate the insights, tools, and resources to create positive change. My website is www.johnnesbittlicsw.com I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, identity questions, and life transitions; adolescents struggling to thrive socially or academically; the impact of learning disabilities on social and emotional functioning; and parents struggling to effectively support their children. My approach to therapy is informed by training and experience in traditional dynamic psychotherapy, CBT, attachment theory, executive function coaching and mindfulness techniques. I also have a deep interest in using findings in neuroscience to inform our understanding of various problems of living.
