About
Therapy can be life-changing, but starting can be difficult and anxiety-provoking. I commend anyone who begins this process. I have worked as a therapist for over 20 years, first as a clinical social worker and now as a psychologist, and feel honored by the chance to help people make greater sense of their lives; manage painful or problematic feelings, thoughts, and behaviors; improve their relationships and ability to do good work; and find sources of vitality.
I work from a psychodynamic orientation, which includes understanding how the past continues to influence the present, often without us knowing. As needed, I incorporate other kinds of treatment, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and IFS. I believe in the importance of explaining the rationale for how I work, should this be relevant.
I bring a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental stance to my work, and am challenging when appropriate. I invite you to contact me so that together we can bring a spirit of curiosity to improving your life.
