About
My style as a psychotherapist is supportive, empathic, and nonjudgmental. I work with adults and adolescents who struggle with relationship issues, overwhelming emotions, and challenging life circumstances and transitions. I aim to help people better understand their areas of struggle and how they can use their strengths to overcome challenges. My goal is to help the people I work with achieve meaningful change. I prioritize tailoring treatment to individual needs. We can either begin therapy with concrete problem solving techniques and skills, or with examining what is going on in your life and identifying areas to focus on.
I believe that therapy works best when it is a collaborative process, so I take an active stance while also providing you space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I know that it can be difficult to start therapy and that therapy can be an emotionally intense experience.
I welcome and value your thoughts and feelings about the therapeutic process as it is ongoing and believe exploring them can be productive. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative and most informed by psychodynamic, relational, cognitive, and dialectical-behavioral theories and research.
