About
I have been practicing Marital and Family Therapy in the Anchorage, Alaska, area since 1976. Over the years as my career has advanced I have focused mostly on working in the areas of Marital, Pre-Marital, Divorce and Co-Parenting. My training as well as my life experiences have molded my professional identity as a marriage and family therapist. It is of utmost importance for me to maintain a consciousness about the differences that each and every client and couple presents. We each have our own individual story and map that we bring to our relationship journey.
My training as a marital/relationship therapist has been greatly influenced by the work of Terry Real and Relational Life Therapy and The Gottman Method of Couple Therapy. According to RLT, relationships go through cycles of harmony, disharmony and repair. My vision is to help folks manage their cycles to lead them to a cherishing relationship.
I was very involved with beginning the Alaska Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and I also actively participated in attaining state licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists in Alaska. Satisfying relationships are at the heart of healthy individuals, families and communities
