About
I believe everyone has the innate ability to change. My role as your therapist is to facilitate change in areas you want to see improvement. I work from a person centered approach which is a nondirective, empathic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process. Rather than viewing people as inherently flawed, with problematic behaviors and thoughts that require treatment, person-centered therapy identifies that each person has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. I take clients ages 12 and older effected by anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relational issues and work stress.
Grief is a normal and natural emotional response to any change in our lives The biggest problem for grievers is attempting to deal with loss intellectually, rather than emotionally. We are constantly giving them logical reasons why they should not feel pain, but that does not make it go away.
As a licensed professional counselor and grief recovery specialist, it is my hope to help process through the pain of loss and to actively work towards developing healthy skills to manage emotions in an effective way
