About
Over the past seventeen years my practice has evolved towards working with adults who are seeking to understand relational patterns learned in childhood that are impacting their current relationships. Individuals who grew up in a home that was either overly controlling, chaotic, or a mixture of both often develop a special set of coping skills that helped them survive that early relationship but might lead to misunderstandings and confusion in healthier relationships. Understanding the roots of these relationship patterns can help shift them and allow healthier relationship patterns to become established.
I have helped people navigate difficult life transitions, such as divorces or separations, estrangements, aging parents (particularly ones with dementia related to addiction or major mental illness), grief, maintenance of sobriety, and healing from complex trauma. I often incorporate dream work, art, and narrative to help enliven the therapeutic experience.
I really enjoy this work. Through the years I have been practicing I have been honored to accompany my clients during their process of healing. I have admired their ability to find meaning through painful suffering, and been inspired by their humanity. I would welcome a chance to work with you to develop your own healing process.
