About
My passion is working with young to older adults to resolve challenges in living and to build a fulfilled and joyful life. I work with relationship difficulty, anxiety, depression, life transition issues, or posttraumatic stress and I adapt my treatment approach to fit your individual background and desired therapy goals. My therapeutic model is eclectic, drawing mainly on psychodynamic, attachment-based, cognitive-behavior, and humanistic modalities. Essential skills such as mindfulness, relaxation, and stress management are built into treatment. And I work with you to cultivate a healthy lifestyle, reflecting my belief that physical wellbeing and mental health are inseparable.
In a supportive therapy environment, we will explore your current challenges, while developing a clear understanding of important issues in your life. I have extensive experience working with individuals who struggle with emotional and/or behavioral problems. When appropriate, I apply EMDR or Lifespan Integration to help resolve traumas.
I also work with clients in interracial relationships to bring cultural understanding to them, which in turn promotes good communication. Overall, the ultimate therapy goal is to increase your positive inner capacities and resources and enable you to live a life with a greater sense of freedom and possibility.
