Therapy to me, in the most basic of senses, is about what is possible when two people form a genuine relationship. That is what I strive to do with my clients, show up as my full self and use what I have learned to help support them however they want to be helped. In my experience, when two people show up as their full selves and are willing to put in the work, moments of insight occur that reverberate outside of the therapeutic space and change lives for the better: anxieties begin to lessen, the heaviness of depression begins to feel lighter, life transitions feel less overwhelming and more manageable.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a type of therapy that explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. What's more important to me, though, is forming a genuine relationship. I believe that it is through those relationships that positive change occurs.
