As a counselor, I want you to consider yourself as the driver and me as your GPS. Along the journey, I will be present with you and point out important things. I will help equip you with the proper tools to improve your current state and overall quality of life. My name is Shanese and I am of Black/African-American ancestry, I honor experiences of intersecting identities and am deeply interested in intergenerational trauma and resilience. I am currently a candidate for a master’s in social work and intern therapist. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Student Affairs Admin. in Higher Education.
My clinical specialty embraces adults experiencing various forms of trauma. My clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, self-esteem, academic concerns, attachment injuries, grief and loss, relationship and family challenges, workplace wellness, burnout, personal improvement, and life transitions.
I offer an eclectic approach specifically designed for each person's needs based in evidence-based and holistic modalities, including Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness/Relaxation, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative therapy, and others.
