About
I love my work. I work primarily with women. I find that most women, regardless of their personal histories, complain of feeling stuck - repeating patterns and behaviors that don't make them feel successful or happy. I believe a large part of the problem is that there are parts of themselves they have had to submerge very early in life. Some of my clients have suffered early parental loss, medical trauma, physical or sexual abuse, or a traumatic accident. Many describe parents who loved them, but who were unable to meet their emotional needs in significant ways.
I suppport my clients in rediscovering and embracing these submerged parts of themselves, so that they can expand their range of responses and positive beliefs about themselves. I guide them in developing mindfulness, and other tools that will help them manage overwhelming emotions and situations where they feel stuck.
I am committed to supporting my clients' desire and efforts to change. I believe that people can change. My work over the past ten years, studying the mind-body connection, has enhanced this belief and my effectiveness. I am EMDR trained and have completed Level Il of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Training.
