About
Trauma is the inability to be in the present. Trauma therapy is not about understanding what happened, in fact talking about it can be retraumatizing (Bessel 2020). Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk is a world-renowned trauma research and author of “The Body Keeps the Scoreâ€, a New York Times bestseller for years.
In following Dr. Bessel’s work, I decided to seek training in cutting-edge therapies. People may feel hesitant about seeking treatment for trauma because it can open a door that can lead them to feel overwhelmed. However, this is not the case with the therapy in which I provide.
Trauma is something that you might have managed to put away but eventually comes back in symptoms such as anxiety, panic, depression, anger, and feeling disconnected. Some of the patients I have worked with have shared their experiences on Google reviews (Terra Counseling Center). This may be a helpful resource.
