About
I've spent my entire professional life working with people who have trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or a psychotic disorder. My clients are fighting a hard fight, and I value being in it with them. I called my web site "Audeo", which is Latin for "I dare", because my typical client needs some courage just to look up a therapist (or *another* therapist) and I respect it. When it was hard for you to show up for therapy, or use your coping skills, or get up today, you have my respect. You might be doing everything right when you don't feel right at all.
Since I only treat a small range of problems, I can offer CBT, DBT, ACT, HRV biofeedback, and Adlerian therapy, an older psychoanalytic therapy that I find highly effective. My goal is to help create a custom treatment plan that blends evidence-based practice and the client's specific needs.
I usually respond more quickly to emails than phone, so that's the best way to contact me. Feel free to ask any questions you want to, or ask for a 20-minute consultation by phone or video. Right now, the practice I work with is only doing telehealth, but I'll return to the office when Chicago's COVID numbers show a lengthy trend downward.
