Play therapy is my passion! As a registered play therapist, I conduct therapy using play to facilitate growth, change, communication, and work through a variety of issues using play techniques. Additionally, I work as a trainer sharing my knowledge and excitement of the incredible work that can be done using play!
Play therapy is a "kid user friendly" way to help children. Rather than adults who talk as their primary communication and interactions and therefore use talk therapy, children primarily communicate and interact through play, therefore using play therapy to communicate in their language in a way that is age appropriate is most fitting for children.
In conjunction with play therapy I engage parents in parenting skills as well to help them understand and engage with their child more effectively, bringing the skills from session into their home which is crucial in maintaining the work done in sessions.
