About
Hi, I am Kathy Williams a LCSW & CADC, I have 30 years' experience in Mental Health working with adults and adolescence. I look forward to meeting and assisting in your journey to become a better you. I am trained in many approaches, but I mostly use CBT, ACT, DBT and 12-Step Recovery work. I love working with Multicultural individuals, Veterans and women issues. I am most comfortable treating depression. bipolar, addiction recovery and work-related stress. Since I have a trauma focused background, I like for my clients to feel they are having a conversation with me in my living room.
I believe that the field of Social Work is more of a calling than a job. I have a gift of objectivity that assist people in seeing themselves clearly. I have the ability to ask questions that promote deeper thought in individuals. I have a practical sense that helps clients evaluate what's really important in their lives.
I approach goal setting by using a Values assessment which indicates the clients' priorities. we discuss the priorities and identify the barriers and identify goals which we achieve. Clients should expect to build a rapport that can assist them in determining if we can work together.
