About
My goal is always to help clients build a life worth living. Sensing a gap between where we are and where we would like to be can be a painful experience. Therapy can help to address unpleasant emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and interpersonal symptoms. Therapy can also help clarify values and identity, and can support you in navigating difficult circumstances and challenging barriers to change and growth. Therapy can be helpful in many ways, including building skills to manage difficult emotions, change behavior, and improve relationships; as well as processing lived experience and the accompanying emotions.
I am trained in a variety of evidence-based approaches to mental health treatment. I integrate aspects of these approaches to meet specific client needs. I am also a certified group psychotherapist. Scientific research reflects that group psychotherapy is a powerful road to change for a wide variety of therapeutic concerns.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, reflecting each client's expertise about their own life as well as the clinical expertise of the therapist. If desired, I am comfortable integrating client spirituality or faith from a variety of religious and spiritual traditions. This includes nonjudgmental and supportive exploration of faith transitions.
