About
No, you shouldn't be "over it" even though people like to tell you that. Time does NOT heal all wounds and healing often does not happen in a one-time event. Past painful events or old injustices have a way of keeping us stuck. Our childhood experiences shape our bodies and minds and set the stage for how we relate to others and ourselves. The good news is that we can heal, change, grow, reorganize, and recover physiologically through healing our nervous systems. Trauma not only affects the mind but also the body which is why somatic therapy acknowledges the vital role of the body in recovering from traumatic experiences.
We can do the work to promote neuroplasticity where the brain can be rewired to respond differently. Just talking about what happened is not enough some of time. We have to do something about it. That’s where EMDR and Somatic Experiencing are often helpful as body-based approaches. Healing is a journey of empowerment and you can reclaim your life.
I am holding space for the 2SLGBTQI+ community and am familiar with the needs of those exploring gender identity. I also work with individuals in non-normative relationship structures, non-monogamy and polyamory, and those seeking to build better skills around consent, communication, and boundaries. Neurodivergent affirming :)
What sets us apart
Specializing in trauma recovery, I utilize EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to address the impact of past experiences on the body and mind. I support neuroplasticity and healing through nervous system regulation. Affirming of 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, I have experience with gender identity, non-normative relationships, and building skills in consent, communication, and boundaries. Neurodivergent affirming.
